Description Information Reviews
This strand of antique porcelain beads is very finely graduated and measures about 19" long. Beads range in size from 3.5 to 9.5mm. The color is most unusual--a rose-pink with a bit of coral overtone. Production of porcelain beads in Europe began in the late 1870s, particularly in France and Germany. A little later, other centers fashioned porcelain beads, but through agreement, manufacture was strictly controlled. I believe these beads are early 20th century and from Germany, where coral-colored beads were a specialty. Beads are in very good condition. They are strung on original twine, which has become somewhat lax.
